How long does it take?

How quickly we transfer you depends on your situation. We keep a register of people who want to move and we can offer some of our empty homes to residents on our list. We offer homes to people who are most in need. We will decide this using our points system (this will soon be replaced by a new banding system). If your current home meets your housing needs, we are not likely to give you a high priority for a move.

Why can't I transfer?

You will always be entitled to apply for a transfer but we may not make you an offer if you are breaking the conditions of your tenancy agreement because you owe rent or have been involved with antisocial behaviour.

If you are not happy with a decision we have made, you can appeal in writing to the head of housing. If we feel there is an extremely exceptional reason why you need to move, we may reconsider your case.
