You and your neighbours

We believe that everyone has the right to live the way they wish as long as this does not spoil the quality of life of others. This means being tolerant, accepting and respecting the needs and choices of other people.

The way in which we deal with antisocial behaviour for A2 Winchester residents is different.

What is antisocial behaviour?

Antisocial behaviour is defined in law as:

"Behaviour that is capable of causing nuisance or annoyance to any person that does not live in the same household as the person(s) causing the antisocial behaviour, and can be considered so by any reasonable person."

In practice, antisocial behaviour can take many forms but often includes behaviour that causes alarm or distress to one or more people usually not of the same household. It can include:

  • Criminal behaviour
  • Youth disturbance
  • Verbal abuse and threatening behaviour
  • Violence against people or property
  • Graffiti
  • Vandalism and criminal damage and
  • Drugs or alcohol related behaviour
