A2 Housing Group was formed in 2005 as a result of a merger between Airways Housing Group and Apex Housing Group. More recently, A2 merged with Winchester Housing Group. These partnerships have created one of the largest housing groups in the South East, firmly establishing A2 as a long term player within the sector.
A2's portfolio includes 15,000 properties across a range of tenures with a development pipeline of a further 3,000 homes over the next three years. Most of A2's current housing stock is located in Surrey, Berkshire, West London, Hampshire, Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire, and Oxfordshire. The Group has an annual turnover of nearly £70m and generates a surplus for reinvestment of more than £10m. A2 also has partnering status with the Housing Corporation.
Through its commercial arm, A Plus New Homes, A2 has demonstrated financial versatility and development flexibility with a range of successful projects. These commercial activities continue to play the increasingly important role of re-investing income to cross subsidise other areas of the business.
A2 Housing Group also run a localised Home Improvement Agency for people living in the Spelthorne Area. Home Improvement Agencies (HIAs) help vulnerable people to maintain their independence by adapting client's home to meet their needs.
